About David Energy

David Energy is creating a new kind of power company. Traditional Retail Electricity Providers (REPs) are outdated, opaque, and painful for customers to engage with. We use software to monitor our customers’ real-time energy usage, and we aggregate and analyze that data to maximize the value they get from their energy assets – batteries, EVs, HVAC systems and other distributed energy resources (DERs) via participation in energy markets. Our mission is to give energy customers greater transparency and control while creating a cheaper, cleaner, more reliable electricity grid.

Our success will depend on aggregating and analyzing large sets of data to properly dispatch and manage users’ assets (such as battery storage, HVAC, solar and electric vehicles) in real-time energy markets to provide the customer with the most value possible.

We are looking for a full-time candidate to help manage our Supply and Pricing team’s data management efforts. The ideal candidate will have a passion for energy markets, and will be a hands-on leader who brings technical experience with tackling/understanding large sets of data. This candidate will also utilize his or her expertise with data management tools to build creative solutions for the team. The role reports to the Director of Supply & Risk and can be remote.

Responsibilities include:

  • Setting up historical usage data sets in our internal data management system

  • Understanding and fixing gaps or missing usage in our historical data sets

  • Expand and develop knowledge around pricing for our retail electricity contracts across various markets

  • Create tools and reporting to illuminate sales and pricing throughput and KPIs

  • Assist in the development of David Energy’s proprietary pricing and demand response model

  • Assist in the building of underlying database infrastructure required for scalability

  • Iterate rapidly on features and tools

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS in Finance, Math, Economics, Engineering, or another technical discipline

  • 1-3 years experience in a previous pricing or quantitative role, preferably in wholesale or retail energy

  • Solutions oriented

  • Strong capabilities in Excel (VBA), SQL, Python or other data management tools

  • Generalist mindset – wants to learn and evolve, and not be siloed to one domain

  • Ability to work together well within a team

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Tenacity and a penchant for hitting or beating deadlines
