Engineering Manager, Connect
At Enode, our mission is to accelerates the transition to a sustainable energy system by connecting and optimizing the world’s energy devices. A fully renewable energy system is dependent on flexible demand that can adapt to the intermittent supply from wind and solar. To create this flexibility, we need to connect to and control the fast-growing demand coming from electric vehicles, heat pumps and other energy hardware. This is what we’re doing at Enode. Our APIs power the next generation of green energy apps, with our customers representing over 250 million consumers worldwide. About the role
As an Engineering Manager for Connect at Enode, you will embody the role of a 'CTO for the team,' shaping the technical vision and leading the decision-making process specific to our core product. In this dynamic role, you'll balance technical work with high-level strategic planning, mirroring a CTO's responsibilities within the product's scope. This dual focus on engineering and leadership epitomizes our belief that the most effective leaders are deeply involved in their craft and collaborative in their approach to team success. You will collaborate closely with the CTO, aligning the product’s technical direction with the company’s overarching goals and playing a crucial part in Connect's growth and evolution. Your primary responsibility is to build, ship, and run world-class products. You are ultimately responsible for the team's success. This requires a strong team, which is your responsibility to build and maintain.
Be the driving force in building and guiding the team's technical vision, ensuring alignment with our broader business goals
Lead technical decision-making, maintaining a balance between hands-on development and strategic planning
Collaborate closely with the CTO to align on the company’s strategic direction, product decisions, and roadmap for an emerging business area
Design, build, and maintain critical components of our product, from APIs to user-facing experiences
Hire and nurture talent, fostering an environment of technical excellence and innovation within the team.
3+ years of engineering management experience
6+ years of software development experience
Prefer simple solutions and designs over complex ones, and have a good intuition for what will last and scale
Experience managing remote and distributed teams
Strong written and verbal communication skills for different audiences (leadership, users, company-wide)
You thrive in a collaborative environment involving different stakeholders and subject matter experts.
