About Position
As the team’s engineering manager, you will directly lead and manage a team of software engineers responsible for making critical infrastructure for the carbon credit ecosystem.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead, inspire, and manage a team of world-class software engineers, fostering a culture of high performance, high velocity of delivering value, and technical excellence while fostering a culture of collaboration.
  • You will work directly with the product management team to drive the technical vision and strategy for the Patch platform
  • Mentor and develop the engineers on your team, helping them grow and advance in their work
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the company's technology stack and industry trends, guiding the team in making informed technical decisions.
  • Cultivate a culture of innovation, encouraging creative thinking and problem-solving within the engineering team.

Who You Are:

  • You have significant software development experience
  • You have previous years of engineering management experience
  • You have a demonstrated ability to build and lead technical teams that balance technical excellence, customer empathy, and collaboration with stakeholders.
  • You can effectively coach your team to ensure high product quality while maintaining high delivery throughput.
  • You have a technical background and are able to help your engineers make good technical decisions.
  • You are an excellent communicator, in person and in writing. You are comfortable giving feedback when needed and helping your team do their best work.
  • You have successfully led and managed engineering teams, fostering a collaborative and innovative work culture.
  • You can mentor, manage, and guide team members, fostering their professional development.
  • You have experience in setting and achieving strategic goals, driving projects to completion on time and within scope working directly with Product Managers and Product designers
  • You have a history of promoting a culture of innovation within the engineering team, encouraging creativity and out-of-the-box thinking.
  • You are willing and able to work out of the Hayes Valley, San Francisco, California office a few days a week

  • The salary for this role if filled within the United States is between $190,000 - $235,000. Full-time employees will also be eligible for equity and insurance. Actual specific compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to demonstrated skill set, years and depth of relevant experience, location, and some role-dependent factors.
