Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the company's financial strategy to support its growth and long-term financial objectives.
  • Determine the best capital structure for the business, considering factors such as risk, cost of capital, and financial flexibility.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to set financial goals and budgets, providing guidance on financial decision-making and resource allocation.
  • Secure project finance, equity, and debt through strategic partnerships and negotiations with financial institutions and investors.
  • Conduct financial analysis and risk assessments to evaluate investment opportunities and support business development initiatives.
  • Oversee financial planning and forecasting to ensure the company's financial health and sustainable growth.
  • Lead financial reporting and analysis to provide insights into the company's performance and inform strategic decisions.
  • Monitor financial compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
  • Assess and implement financial systems and processes to optimize efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field. MBA or advanced financial certifications (e.g., CFA) are a plus.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, with at least 5 years in a senior financial leadership role in the mining or oil and gas industry.
  • Strong knowledge of capital structuring, project finance, equity, and debt financing.
  • Proven track record of successful fundraising and securing financing for complex projects in the mining or oil and gas sector.
  • Excellent financial modeling, forecasting, and analytical skills.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to think critically and make data-driven decisions.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and drive financial initiatives.
