Who We Are Looking For:
Phoenix Tailings is seeking a Vice President of Mining Operations who is looking for a career where they can make a significant impact on the world. We encourage applications from individuals who are passionate about sustainability, innovation, and have a proven track record of designing mechanical systems for high-temperature and complex processes.
The successful candidate will be a leader, a team player, and a mentor, bringing expertise and positive influence to our diverse and talented team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to expand mining, refining, and smelting operations to meet the growing demand for critical metals production.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to optimize and improve operational processes, ensuring efficient and sustainable mining practices.
  • Collaborate with engineering and research teams to integrate cutting-edge technologies and innovations into operational workflows.
  • Continuously improve existing processes to enhance metal recovery efficiency, minimize environmental impact, and adhere to sustainable mining practices.
  • Identify and implement emerging technologies and best practices to drive operational excellence and productivity.
  • Provide visionary leadership and mentorship to operational teams, fostering a culture of growth and learning.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, safety standards, and promote responsible mining practices.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to set and achieve operational goals, budgets, and timelines.
  • Foster strategic partnerships and collaborations to enhance Phoenix Tailings' position as a leader in sustainable mining.


  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mining Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related fields.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in the mining and metals production industry, with a focus on expanding operations.
  • Demonstrated expertise in sustainable mining practices and driving operational efficiencies.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and commitment to promoting responsible mining.
  • Excellent strategic planning, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and collaboration abilities.
  • Proven track record of achieving operational goals and driving growth in a dynamic environment.
