Software Engineering, Quality Assurance
Redwood City, CA, USA
Posted on Wednesday, May 1, 2024

Our mission is to move humanity off of fossil fuel heating. 20% of US global warming emissions come from homes (that's more than cars!). The largest driver of home emissions is burning fossil fuels for heat. To stop climate change, over 80M US homes need to transition from combustion to efficient, electric heat pumps over the coming decades.

We believe for this to happen the world needs fantastic products that are easy and desirable to purchase. Today's heat pumps lack great design, make limited use of software, and are difficult and stressful to adopt. We are building a next generation, beautifully designed, AI optimized home heating and cooling system that is 10x better than what is on the market today.

Role

Quilt is hiring our first Software QA Engineer to spearhead quality assurance across our entire software stack. You will craft and implement a comprehensive testing strategy for iOS, Android, Web, and hardware platforms. We are looking for a methodical, detail-oriented individual ready to establish and promote a test-driven culture, significantly enhancing our product quality.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute detailed test plans and test cases to verify software functionality, reliability, and performance.
  • Conduct regular regression testing, analyze results, and work closely with the development team for timely issue resolution.
  • Test and troubleshoot on iOS, Android, and hardware devices.
  • Manage and maintain bug tracking systems to document issues.
  • Collaborate with users and developers to replicate and resolve bugs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2+ years of professional work experience.
  • Proven experience in mobile testing for both iOS and Android platforms.
  • Familiarity with project tracking systems such as Linear or Jira.
  • Proficient in writing test plans and test cases.
  • Working knowledge of command line tools for log collection and analysis.
  • Experience in using testing tools such as ADB, Android Studio and XCode.
  • Previous experience in Agile development environments preferred.

This is an in office 3-month contract-to-hire position in our Redwood City office.

Pay ranges from $30-50/hour, depending on experience.

We are a growing team of ambitious people who truly care about the impact of their work. We are on a mission to accelerate a species-level human transition. For over a million years we've been burning things to stay warm. It's time to move to a better way of living.
